We have an important primary for the democratic seat for Michigan’s US Senate Seat that is currently held by Senator Debbie Stabenow. The contest is between Hill Harper, a progressive democrat who doesn’t accept PAC money and is interested in legislation for the people, and Elissa Slotkin, who is a more conservative democrat who takes significant PAC money.
I attended a campaign mixer for Hill Harper in Bay City recently where I met him and his campaign staff (thank you, Miss Lakisha!). After engaging with him and listening to all that he stands for, I was sold. He checks every one of my boxes for what I want in a US Senator who represents me and the people of Michigan and the country. That night, I booked Hill on our new political podcast, The Righteous Uproar.
We talked about his platform and critical issues we are facing today such as: Gun violence, Citizens United, PAC money in political campaigns, the filibuster, clean energy, clean water, Line 5 and so much more. This is an excellent podcast that highlights the passion that Hill has for doing the right thing for the people of Michigan and the United States.

Hill is running to “take on the entrenched special interests and the corrupt system holding our state and our nation back — because Hill knows that Michigan deserves a truly independent Senator who will do what’s right for all of us, not just the wealthy few. This isn’t the campaign that will have the most endorsements from DC insiders, but it is the campaign focused on people and the issues that matter to all of us.”
